Laguna Loses In Ripken Semis; Football Live TV Schedule Announced

The Laguna Bandits' baseball season is over. The Bandits were defeated Friday night in the semi-finals of the U.S. Championships of the Cal Ripken Age 12-and-under World Series in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Southeast built an early lead against Laguna, the Pacific Southwest regional champions, scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 6-4 win on Friday at Cal Sr.’s Yard. Southeast will now advance to the US Championship bracket today.

Even Laguna’s runs on an error in the third inning, an error in the fourth inning, and a two-run double by Jonah Ira in the fifth inning, could not add up to Southeast’s offense. Tucker Jackson went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Southeast. He homered in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Southeast’s pitcher Ryan Sholar had an impressive outing against the Bandit’s lineup. Ryan held the team hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six.

Tucker got the win for Southeast, allowing two runs over four innings. He struck out eight, walked three and surrendered three hits.

How do they leave out powerhouse programs like EG, Grant and Granite Bay?
