Zero Week Football Results

Quite an impressive 2012 season opener for the Elk Grove Thundering Herd in Stockton Friday as they down a very talented Lincoln team, 35-21. The Herd dominated the second half as they held the Trojans' USC-bound tailback Justin Davis to zero yards on four second half carries. Davis had 111 yards on 14 carries and a TD in the first half for Lincoln.

Wadus Parker gained 118 yards on 15 carries and three TD's for Elk Grove while sophomore linebacker Spencer Sheff led the defensive effort with 11 tackles and a key third quarter interception of Trojan quarterback Zack Greenlee. That led to Elk Grove's go ahead touchdown after trailing 21-20 at halftime.

Watch the video of my post-game interviews with head coach Chris Nixon and Sheff.
