Six runs by Elk Grove off Pleasant Grove starter Celina Matthias gave the Lady Herd a 9-3 win Thursday over the Eagles.

Elk Grove (4-4) has now won games over cross-city rivals Sheldon and Pleasant Grove this week after starting the season 0-4.

Morgan Evangelista was two-for-three for Elk Grove. Miranda Rodriguez went three-for-three.

Drake Atlee was three-for-four with three RBI's to lead Cosumnes River College to a 9-8 win Thursday over Modesto College.

Elway Santistevan (2-0) earned the win in relief by pitching four-and-a-third strong innings.

The Hawks are now 14-6 overall, 2-3 in the Big 8 Conference.
