The Herd qualified all its 14 wrestlers for the Section Masters' event which begins on Friday at the Stockton Arena.  They are the only D-I team to do that. Martin Ramirez (132), Scott Votino (170) and Josh Letuligasenoa (220) picked up first place medals. Seconds were earned by Joey Lopez (152), Braden Henderson (145), Ethan Larrabee (112) and Jacob Lopez (106).

Franklin had a good showing, placing seventh overall. Their top performers were freshman Josh Villaflor at 120 pounds and Joey Banks at 170 pounds. Eight Wildcats have qualified for the Masters. The same number of Sheldon Huskies will also compete this weekend in Stockton.

The top wrestler for Sheldon was heavyweight Sam Alnassiri who finished in fourth place.

Pleasant Grove will send three grapplers to Masters, led by Eric Carda. He was fourth last weekend at 220 pounds.

The Masters will combine the top wrestlers from all five divisions in one tournament. The top seven in each weight group will advance to the state championships the following weekend in Bakersfield.
