Elk Grove's Brian Detrick |
Got a couple emails to pass along. First, from City Councilman Steve Detrick - his son Brian has done real well at the
Moomba Masters' Waterski Event in Austrailia. Brian is a world-class water-skier and has continued to do well in competitions around the globe.
In local baseball, too wet to play anything around here. But, Sac State squeezed in a game this afternoon at Hornet Field. Here's the report from HornetSports.Com:
The Hornets (7-9) scored four runs in the first inning and tacked on five more in the seventh, including a a grand slam by freshman Rhys Hoskins, en route to a big 11-3 win.
They tallied a season-high 11 runs total on a season-best 18 hits with no errors. Sacramento State accumulated more than 18 hits just twice last season, with both coming in back-to-back games in a series at New Mexico State in May.
The Big Green (0-4) had three runs on 11 hits with two errors.
Sacramento State starter Hunter Greenwood (Franklin H.S.) (2-2) earned his second second win of the season after allowing three runs on six hits in six innings
with five strikeouts and four walks. |
