The 2012 California Track and Field Meet starts Friday at Buchanan High School in Clovis. Our local area is well-represented, but as you can see from the list of the contestants qualified for the two-day meet, our area athletes will have their work cut out for them.
Questionable will be Monterey Trail sprinter Esther Higgwe who has a badly strained hamstring. She won the 100 meters, anchored the winning 4x100 meter relay during last Friday's SJS Masters' Meet, but injured the muscle during the finals of the 200 meters.
Teammate A'Jah Love won that event along with the 400 meters at the Masters.
