Larson Will Start At Daytona Sunday

Elk Grove's own Kyle Larson will open the 2014 NASCAR season Sunday in the fourth row of the Daytona 500. This season Larson, 22, will race for car owner Chip Ganassi in car #42, a Chevrolet, sponsored by Target.

The race will be shown live at 10 a.m. Sunday on FOX.


Last season Larson competed in the Nationwide circuit
of NASCAR. He had a dramatic accident at Daytona on day prior to the 500 where his car was thrown up against the fence, came down into the infield, completely without the front of the vehicle. He was not hurt.

Larson attended Pleasant Grove High School and raced at local tracks as a teen growing up in Elk Grove.
